Cannes, May 2026 – After covering the festival in 2025, Visual Twins returns to the Croisette for the 79th Cannes Film Festival. Last year's experience remains vivid: the red carpets, the collaborations with actors and directors, the energy of capturing the best moments of each event.

VT Media at Cannes

This year we're testing VT Media, our AI-powered photo delivery platform, at the festival. The system uses facial recognition technology so attendees can find their photos by taking a selfie on the platform. The AI scans event photos and displays only those featuring the user.Photos are available 3-4 hours after the event with our standard color grading and retouching, ready for download or sharing. For Cannes, this means festival-goers can access their red carpet moments without searching through thousands of images.

The Red Carpet: Icons and New Faces

Cannes 2026 centers around the anticipated return of Zendaya, a global style icon expected at the Grand Théâtre Lumière. The jury is led by Park Chan-wook, bringing sophisticated aesthetic sensibility to the official events.

Jacob Elordi has emerged as this edition's breakout presence. His performance in the noir drama in competition positions him as the symbol of this edition, blending Old Hollywood charm with new generation energy.

Immersive Competition Expansion

The notable development this year is the expanded Immersive Competition. The Festival has transformed spaces in the Carlton to present works merging augmented reality and collective storytelling, allowing viewers to experience films "from the inside."

For us, this creates interesting documentation challenges. We're capturing not just red carpet arrivals but the collision between traditional cinematic language and immersive experience, the moment when directors trained in classical framing must think spatially.
