The collection contemplates nature's philosophy: one flower, one world; one thought, one tranquility. A single flower reflects the entire cosmos – light, rain, earth – converging in ephemeral beauty.

The inspiration comes from the harmony between flowers and butterflies, where the fluttering of wings generates wind, rhythm, poetry. Each creation embodies serenity and vitality, interaction between strength and fragility, order and chaos.

Eastern Craftsmanship

Through silks, brocades, and layered draping, Heaven Gaia weaves Eastern aesthetics and contemporary art:

  • Suzhou embroidery (UNESCO heritage) – delicate technique from Suzhou gardens
  • Immersion-dyed silks
  • Silk tapestry
  • Hand-painted fabrics

Silhouettes evoke the fluid curves of hanfu (traditional Chinese dress) with Western tailoring precision.

Who Is Xiong Ying

First Chinese designer published in Show Details (Italian magazine) and first to show at the Opéra de Paris (2016, Palais Garnier).

Growing up in a family where fashion was handed-down tradition, she developed an acute sense of beauty from childhood. In 2013 she founded Heaven Gaia (name honoring Gaia, Greek goddess of Earth, as tribute to mother and grandmother) with friend Wang Tingying.

Meteoric rise: in 2 years debuts at China Fashion Week, in the 3rd year in Paris. In 2016 she made history showing at the Opéra de Paris.

Collections inspired by: Ancient Summer Palace in Beijing, Mogao Caves in Dunhuang (Silk Road), traditional Chinese opera, ink painting, family lacquerware, ancient porcelain.

Photographing Heaven Gaia means capturing layers of meaning: philosophy translated into visual language. Not stereotypical exoticism but deep authenticity – a Chinese designer bringing her cultural heritage with authority and intimate knowledge.

Suzhou embroidery requires years of apprenticeship. Dyeing follows centuries-old methods. Draping evokes hanfu without copying it. It's dialogue between tradition and innovation, between East and West, that betrays neither.
